Dave Lamont //

Head Coach Dave Lamont

 

Standing as Muhlenberg College's Goalie's Coach, Lamont joined the Muhlenberg College men's lacrosse staff after a 4 year stint alongside Head Coach Jake Plunket at Albright College. Lamont was hired prior to Albright's inaugural 2012 season and was an integral part to their success.  Lamont was Albright's assistant offensive coordinator underneath head coach Jake Plunket, as well as the goalies coach, faceoff coach and box coordinator on game day.

 

In 2018, Lamont coached Muhlenberg's Sophomore Keeper Garrett Pope to Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors.  Pope was also named to the United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's Division III Team of the Week in March.  Pope played in and started 16 games for the Mules while ending the 2018 campaign with an 11-5 record, .573 save percentage and 9.43 goals against average.

 

While at Albright, Lamont led freshman goalie Andrew Torak to four MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player/Goalie of the week honors during the inaugural 2012 season along with multiple goalie of the week honors for keeper Jordan DiZenzo.

Lamont graduated from West Chester University of PA in 2005 with a degree in kinesiology and a minor in health sciences. He was a member of the Athletic Director's Academic Honor Roll during his tenure. Coach Lamont attended West Chester University during its unfortunate transition from a NCAA Division II program to a NCLL Division I program.

Before the transition, Lamont was part of the Division II ECAC finalist team in 2002 which fell to now Division I program Bryant University. A two-year starter, Lamont helped West Chester's NCLL lacrosse team to consecutive final fours and a national championship game appearance in 2004. 

Lamont's coaching experience also includes six years as an assistant varsity lacrosse coach (2006-11) at Boyertown Area Senior High. He was the offensive coordinator and goalies coach with the varsity.

He coached 13 All-PAC-10 selections, including two goalies. One of Lamont's goalies was also the conference MVP. Lamont helped guide Boyertown to four straight PAC-10 playoff appearances from 2008-11, and qualified for the district playoffs in 2010 and 2011.

A native of Abington, PA, Lamont attended Abington High School, where he was a four-year varsity letterwinner in lacrosse. A team captain as a senior, he helped lead the Galloping Ghosts to Northeast League championships and state playoffs in 1996 and 1998.

 

Lamont currently resides in Emmaus, PA with his wife Allison and two sons Keegan (2027) and Liam (2029).
